What engine repair covers
Some of this is a half-day job and sometimes it is a week. The decision between repairing what you have and replacing your engine can be difficult, but we walk you through it so you make the best decision for your vehicle.

Our process
How we diagnose engine problems
We start by asking questions
What it is doing, when it started, and what has already been replaced. That tells us where not to look.
We scan it and we test it
Factory scan tools tell us what the computer has stored. Then we test by hand. Cylinder pressure, oil pressure, cooling system.
We price it both ways
You get a price to repair and a price to replace. We tell you which one we would pick. Once you decide, we build it, road test it and report the work to CarFax.
Engine work carries two layers of coverage
Covered by our 12-month, 12,000-mile parts and labor warranty, transferable if you sell the vehicle. Engine replacements add nationwide coverage, so a breakdown out of state is still covered. All of it is reported to CarFax.

Engine repair questions
Is there a charge for diagnosis?
Yes. Diagnosis is $150 per hour. That covers finding the actual fault with factory equipment, and you get an estimate to approve before any repair starts.
Do you replace engines, or only repair them?
Both. We do engine repairs, and we do engine replacements using either known-good used engines or remanufactured engines, depending on what makes sense for your vehicle and your budget.
Is an engine replacement covered by a warranty?
Yes. Engine replacements include nationwide warranty coverage, on top of our standard 12-month, 12,000-mile parts and labor warranty. The warranty is also transferable if you sell the vehicle.
Will you tell me before you run up the bill?
Yes. We diagnose the issue, then give you a detailed estimate for your approval before we start. If we find additional problems once we are into the job, we call you before proceeding.
Do you work on engines in vehicles other than GM?
GM is our specialty, but we work on other makes and models as well. Just ask us.
